Messier Marathon 2017!

And so starts another year and another season for Irish astronomy! We’ve had a few events so far but we’d like to give a particular shout out.

This is Charles Messier and on the nights of March 24th and 25th in the Kerry International Dark Sky Reserve some top notch astronomers will be trying to see all the night sky objects he cataloged back in the 1700’s in one night! This is called a Messier Marathon. Mere mortals like ourselves will be happy to see a personal best on the night! Beginners will be able to get a look through some great telescopes and start to learn! Everyone is welcome to join in the fun of exploring our wonderful dark skies.
Where: Kerry International Dark Sky Reserve on the Wild Atlantic Way
When: March 24th/25th 2017
